Actuonix Motion Devices PQ12s on the ISS!




Actuonix's PQ12-S micro linear actuators are onboard "Strata-1", an asteroid regolith experiment scheduled to launch on either the OA-6 Cygnus capsule orSpaceX-9 Dragon capsule resupply missions to the International Space Station. OA-6 is scheduled for launch from the Kennedy Space Center on March 10, 2016 and SpaceX-9 is scheduled for launch from KSC on March 21, 2016. The experiment will be installed inside the United States Laboratory and will operate for approximately one year before being returned to Earth.

Our new P16 Series is available now!




The P16 is the new generation of actuator from Actuonix Motion Devices. Featuring a compact side by side design with a planetary gearbox, these units offer higher speeds, higher forces and longer life than our other units. The P16 also offers 4 stroke lengths (50mm, 100mm 150mm and 200mm) and 3 gearing options (22:1, 63:1 and 256:1) in the following configurations:

P16-P: With feedback:
The “P” series actuators offer no built-in control­ler, but do provide an analog position feed­back signal that can be input to an exter­nal controller. The “P” series can be used with our Linear Actuator Control Board (LAC) to give the “P” series the ability to be controlled with USB (via our Configuration Utility Software), 0-5v, 4-20mA, RC Servo or PWM. On board adjustment of speed, sensitivity and stroke limits are available via the LAC. The “P” series are available in 12v only.


P16-S: With limit switches:
These units are operated by reversing polarity on the actuator’s two leads. The “S” series has end of stroke limit switches to that will turn off the unit if it runs into its end stop. These can be run with a DPDT switch, relay or for RC a you can use a brushed reversible DC motor controller. The P16 “S” series is available in 12v only.




T16 Series

The T16 is a new generation mini track actuator from Actuonix Motion Devices based on our P16 design. Featuring a compact side by side design with a planetary gearbox, these units offer higher speeds, higher forces and longer life than our other units. The T16 also offers 3 stroke lengths (100mm, 200mm and 3 00mm) and 3 gearing options (22:1, 63:1 and 256:1) in the following configurations:

T16-P: With feedback:

Our PQ12-R Series is available now!



The PQ12-R is our smallest "R" series unit. Based on our popular PQ12 series, the PQ12-R will operate as a direct replacement for standard analog rotary servos. They use the same standard 3 wire connector, ground power and control. Regardless of how you drive your servos, be it with an RC receiver, an Arduino board, or a VEX micro-controller, the PQ12-R linear servo will function in place of a regular servo, but with the added benefit of providing linear motion. The PQ12-R is a 6 volt only unit available in 3 models with gear ratios of 30:1, 63:1 and 100:1 to cover a large variety of applications.
NOTE: The PQ12-R will not operate with Futaba receivers like the R6014FS that output 2.7 volts. You will need a Smart Fly Power Expander or Orbit Power Jack to bring the signal level up to 5vdc for the PQ12-R to operate.
