Stepper Motor Linear Actuators
The Best in Stepper Motor Linear Actuator Technology
Stepper motor linear actuators have become increasingly popular due to their precision, accuracy, and versatility. These devices are capable of converting rotational motion into linear motion with high precision, making them ideal for applications that require precise control over movement and positioning.
If you are looking for a linear actuator with a stepper motor, Actuonix has you covered. We carry two types of stepper motor linear actuators — the P8-ST and the S20 — that can be used in almost any project or application.
The P8-ST stepper motor linear actuator is a complete, self-contained linear motion device. It comes in 10mm, 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm stroke length options to fit a wide variety of applications.
The brushless stepper design gives the P8-ST a longer life cycle than standard brushed DC motors. The two gear ratios provide higher forces than the S20. The P8-ST stepper motor linear actuator is designed to pull a load axially along its full stroke length. The speed of travel is determined by the step frequency, so long as the load is within the rated force at the target speed.
When power is removed the actuator will hold its position, unless the applied load exceeds the back drive force. Linear stepper motor actuators should be tested in each specific application to determine their effective life under those loading conditions and environments.
S20 Linear Actuators
The S20 actuator is a Continuous Duty Rated, rod-style stepper motor linear actuator built off of our popular L12 platform. Rather than using a DC motor and gearbox, this actuator consists of a NEMA 8 motor mounted directly to the actuator shaft.
The S20 linear actuator with stepper motor offers high-precision positioning in a very compact package that is ideal for mounting in tight spaces. The S20 is available in four different stroke lengths:
- 15mm (0.59")
- 30mm (1.18")
- 50mm (1.97")
- 100mm (3.93")
