Find The Perfect Micro Linear Actuator
Discover versatility, power and reliability that you've never experienced when integrating Actuonix products into your design. Our broad range of options ensures that we will likely have an off the shelf product that you can easily integrate into your product design. Each linear actuator in our catalog has been carefully designed and developed by our in-house engineering team.
Actuonix micro linear actuators are highly versatile, and seamlessly integrate into systems across a wide range of industries and applications. Our electrical engineers have integrated a variety of internal and external control options, allowing you to choose the input that best aligns with your existing systems, rather than adapting to what is available. Our inputs range from simple 6V and 12V input, controlled by switching polarity, through to RC Servo and PLC. You get more control options when pairing a P-Series actuator with our LAC Board including 4-20mA, 0-3.3V and USB. We don't compromise on selection, and not only do we offer more options than anybody, we maintain high levels of stock and ship same-day. Let us show you why our clients keep coming back to Actuonix for their linear motion needs. Browse our entire selection or search actuators by model today.
How Do Micro Actuators Work?
Let's take a closer look at how Micro Linear Actuators function:
- Power Source: For all of our DC motor actuators, either a 6V or 12V power source is required.
- Control System: Actuators require a control mechanism. This ranges from simply switching polarity, through to more complex control inputs including RC Servo and PLC. When using a P-Series actuator with our LAC board, PWM, 4-20mA, 0-3.3V and USB inputs are possible.
- Motor: Inside each actuator, there is either a DC or stepper motor, that converts electrical energy into rotary motion.
- Gear Box: Attached to the motor is a gear box (most models). Utilizing different gear ratios changes the force and speed characteristics of the actuator.
- Lead Screw: The rotational motion of the motor is converted into linear motion by a lead screw and nut, which is attached to the extending shaft.
- Output: The result is a controlled linear motion that can push or pull with varying degrees of force and speed, depending on the actuator's design and the application's requirements.

Why Choose Micro Linear Actuators From Actuonix?
We understand that you have options. A quick search will show that there are a number of companies selling actuators. At Actuonix, we have not only lead the micro actuator industry for 20 years, but we invented the segment. Our PQ12 model was the first affordable, reliable micro actuator available on the market. Our experience has resulted in groundbreaking innovations and a unique product catalog that can't be found elsewhere. Let's talk a bit about why you should consider Actuonix products for your design.

- Selection: As mentioned above, our micro linear actuator catalog now boasts more than 220 unique models. These include 6V and 12V actuators as well as stepper models with stroke lengths ranging from 10mm through to 300mm. We manufacture both rod and track style actuators, and always have more products in the works.
- Quality: Every one of our actuators is a unique product, designed by our in-house engineering team. We carefully select and source each individual component to ensure our products not only meet their datasheet specifications, but stand the test of time. Additionally, we test every single unit before it leaves our facility. You read that right, even on volume orders, we don't batch test. This helps us keep our failure rates and industry-leading lows and ensure that your product will perform for the long haul.
- Customer Service: We offer the kind of old-fashioned customer service that's hard to come by these days. If you need to contact us with a question, you can call us direct and talk to a real person during business hours. Emails are promptly responded to so that you know we take our customers seriously.
- Fast Shipping: In-stock orders typically ship same-day and depart our office at 2pm PST. We prioritize speed when shipping as we know that your project is a priority to you and waiting for crucial components is no good.
- We Give Back: We care about, and give back to the Engineering and Development communities through a variety of programs including our FIRST Robotics Sponsorship, our Engineering Scholarship and a variety of student and development discounts.
- Custom Solutions: If you have linear motion needs that can not be met by one of our existing products, we can work with you to create a custom actuator. This can be a modified version of an existing product or a completely custom actuator.
